CentOS operating system and Aleph
- Article Type: Q&A
- Product: Aleph
- Product Version: 23.3
Question
Could we use CentOS operating system instead of Linux Red Hat?
Answer
It is officially not supported.
Aleph version 23.3 supports
- Linux —Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS/ES 6 and 7, 64bit, based on Intel or AMD 64bit processors
However because CentOS is 100% compatible to RedHat, Ex Libris does not expect problems using CentOS instead of Red Hat.
But Ex Libris does not plan any future certification tests for Aleph versions on CentOS platform. Our QA is done on Red Hat systems.
