    Change Web OPAC Logo

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
How do we change the logo in the default Web OPAC?

    Resolution:
[1] On the server, go to /exlibris/aleph/a18_1/alephe/www_f_eng/icon. You can just write the alias "icon" and it will take you there.

[2] The default logo image is divided horizontally into 3 equal pieces: f-aleph-logo-1.jpg (top), f-aleph-logo-2.jpg (middle), f-aleph-logo-3.jpg (bottom).

    Hint:
To check that these are the correct file names, open your Web OPAC to a page showing the logo at the top left and right-click over each section of the logo, select "Properties" from the right-click menu, and the file name will appear at the end of the "Address (URL)" field.
The entire address may not display, but if you highlight the beginning and pull the cursor towards the bottom of the window, the address should scroll and show the end of the address.
Another technique is to right-click again over the address and select "Select All". This will highlight the entire address and you can copy and paste it.

[3] Divide your logo into 3 equal pieces, ftp those files to the server, overwriting the files listed above (make backup copies first!).

There is no need to restart the www_server. The image changes will appear as soon as the new image files are copied to the correct location on the server.
