    Description:
We are a multi-ADM site. One member library recently noticed that all ADMs had the same setting for util/g/2/11, last-doc-number. It is "B" for all of us. He found that the numbers weren't unique to each ADM, and recommended that we should set that prefix to agree with our individual OWN codes. We agreed, and I set ABC50's doc number prefix to "AB". We now expect newly-created item records will have that prefix.

Are there any negative ramifications to this decision?

    Resolution:
Checking with util f/4 -- and with SQL --, I don't find any xxx50 doc records or z30_rec_key's which have been assigned a prefix of "B" or "AB".

The Z00-DOC-NUMBER is a 9-byte field. The system expects all of these 9 bytes to be numeric. I believe that the last-doc-number Prefix value is not used.

The ADM doc number and z30_rec_key is always used in conjunction with the ADM library code, so there should not be any confusion in the numbers.
