Course Notes Created in Version 20 Not Stored in Bib Records

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
We are migrating from Version 18.01 to 20.01. In Version 18.01, staff entered ABC30 catalog records through a Web form that included fields such as volume, issue, month/day, URL, etc. to assist in cataloging articles and book chapters on reserve. When these records were converted to Version 20.01 these fields were put in the bibliographic record.

However, when articles and book chapters are cataloged for Course reading in Version 20.01 using the "Catalog Record and Create Item" form in the client these note fields do not appear in the bibliographic record. We can't figure out how to get to the notes fields if they need to be edited.

    Resolution:
The "Appetite As Voice" record which you see in the Doc List is not abc30 doc record 41864, but rather 41865. 41864 is the "Connection record" for 41864.

I suggest that you add these lines (taken from the usm30 edit_doc_999.eng) to your abc30 edit_doc_999.eng:

    ## SID D LLinked Doc Y Z E G
    ## SYS D LConnect SysNo Y E G

so that these numbers will appear in the Bib Info tab of the lower panel in the Doc List -- and this confusion can be avoided.
