    Description:
We are interested in using our local XYZ currency for circulation fines and fees, but would want to use dollars for Acquisitions. It looks to me that there is only a single currency variable so this would not be possible, correct?

    Resolution:
There is just one local currency in ALEPH. It is shared by all modules. It might be possible to make USD the default local currency but enter circ amounts in XYZ. (I suspect that you could modify letters to patrons, etc., to indicate that they are XYZ.) But the points at which Circ and Acq intersect would be problematic.

One example is the z30 (item record) price which is derived from the order record but which is subsequently used in Circ as the replacement cost for a Lost item. I suspect that there are a number of other similar, problematic intersections.

Therefore, we recommend that you not do this.
