    Description:
We will be implementing PDQ across our consortium, beginning this summer. We are currently using a locally-defined field (902) to indicate suppressed records. The documentation for PDQ suggests that we may need to standardize on using STA instead. Is this in fact, the case, or can we continue to use our 902 field? If we do need to convert to using STA instead of 902, could you suggest the best method to change all of the item records with current 902 fields to STA?

    Resolution:
I don't think that the STA $$aDeleted field plays any special role in PDQ.

KB 5222 describes the effects of STA $$aDeleted.
