Double index entries for AUT index in BIB database

    • Article Type: General
    • Version: 22, 23
    • Product: Aleph

    Problem Symptoms:

In the index list of authors, corporate authors, subjects etc. an identical index entry for one author, ... appears double in some cases. Both entries have linked BIB records.

    Cause:

    Configuration change

    Resolution:

Filing-Text (responsible for display of index entries in GUI) of ONE record contains a '#' before the IDN:

    Util f/4/z01
    new key = K, exit = Q, continue = RETURN
    k
    key 1 = 1, key 2 = 2, key 3 = 3 key 4 = 4
    1
    Enter start point (CCCCCATTTTTTTT)
    PPE LUreland, Per Sture

    01 z01_acc
    02 z01_rec_key
    03 acc_code ..............PPE
    03 alpha .................L
    03 filing_text ...........URELAND PER STURE #DE588109293967

The other record has not a '#' in the filing text:

    01 z01_acc
    02 z01_rec_key
    03 acc_code ..............PPE
    03 alpha .................L
    03 filing_text ...........URELAND PER STURE DE588109293967

Supposedly xxx01/tab/tab_filing was changed and parameter 'add_prefix_hash' was added.

When you re-index the BIB record which leads to the index entry without '#' the index entries are updated correctly

Run 'Update Headings Index (manage-02)' in order to re-index all index entries and afterwards 'Delete Unlinked Headings (manage-15)' so that the useless index entries get deleted.
