    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 21, 22, 23

    Problem Symptoms:

Full text indexing is not working in Adam. Error message " URL-support is not yet implemented" appears in client when trying to index an URL object..

    Resolution:

Complete error message can be found in pc server log:

2012-12-14 14:25:27 [err] get_url.pl: File is too big (size: '2051099'). Max size is '500000'.
    Load: /tmp/utf_files/exlibris/aleph/u21_1/alephe/tab/tab_sub_library.swe
    Info: Empty table /tmp/utf_files/exlibris/aleph/u21_1/alephe/error_eng/media_heading
    Load: /tmp/utf_files/exlibris/aleph/a21_1/aleph/error_eng/media_heading
    2012-12-14 14:25:27 Critical error (04) in service 'get_url.pl'.

Set "max_url_file_size" parameter in $alephe_root/pc_server_defaults and $alephe_root/aleph_start to "999999999" and restart pc server. Setting the value in both tables is necessary so that it gets valid when doing indexing within the GUI and in batch jobs.

    Additional Information

See also explanation in document "Aleph System Librarian's Guide - ADAM", chapter5.1:

"The size of full text indexing for files given by the URL is limited to 500KB. You may increase the size by adding the following parameter to $alephe_root/pc_server_defaults:
    setenv max_url_file_size 999999999"
