Description:
I have noticed in my apache logs the below error message. It intermittantly appears:
[Sun May 11 23:30:39 2008] [warn] (128)Network is unreachable: connect to listener on [::]:444
Resolution:
[From Jim Adamson, University of York, posted on ALEPH-NA list:]
We had this error for a while on our SFX server. I believe it was caused by Apache being configured to handle IP V6 connections, where the operating system is not. For us it was just a matter of editing the Listen directive in apache's httpd.conf. For example:
Listen 0.0.0.0:80
Further information here: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/bind.html (under "Special IPv6 Considerations")
[From Jerry Specht:] There was an instance of this message in the ./apache/logs/error_log at a U.S site which turned out to be extraneous: despite the message appearing for the past several months, the OPAC, etc., had been working just fine.
