    Description

    GUI help files are not working on a network drive. This is  related to a Microsoft Windows security patch years ago. After having installed this important patch it is no longer possible to call up the help files from a network drive. Unfortunately there is no workaround unless you de-install the Microsoft patch which is not desirable for obvious reasons.

    Resolution

    A workaround can be to copy the GUI help directory (.\alephcom\help\eng\) to a local PC folder.

    Clicking e.g. on the relevant *chm file of the module allows full navigation and search in the help of the relevant module.

    E.g. I copied the files to a new folder C:\exlibris\help_aleph_23\eng

    Clicking on CatHlp.chm allows me to search in the help of the Cataloging module. Full list of module related help files:

     

    AadmHlp.chm - AlephADM

    AcqHlp.chm – Acquisitions

    CatHlp.chm - Cataloging

    CircHlp.chm - Circulation

    ComHlp.chm - General

    Ill2Hlp.chm – ILL
