    Description:
Version 20 GUI client crashes if you go to Task Manager, point to a line in the Batch Log, select the Services tab and then submit p_sys_01 for the pc_server. Then click on the REFRESH button. (May need to do this multiple times)

You get an error 'Failed to read reply'. Click OK and a Windows message pops up declaring the program has stopped working.

We tried the fix defined in KB 5758 - did not make an impact.

    Additional Windows message:
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: circ.exe
    Application Version: 20.2.1.3260
    Application Timestamp: 4cbbfe06
    Fault Module Name: MFC42u.DLL

This does not happen in Version 19.

    Resolution:
I find on our server that if I immediately click on Refresh after doing the submit of p_sys_01, I get the client crash. But if I wait for 15 seconds (wait util the pc_server is actually restarted), I do not get the crash.

You need to wait for at least 15 seconds. Note: it may be more on your server, depending on how long the startup of the pc_server takes.

This issue is still open and was escalated to Development for further investigation <2011-01-16 01:00:04>.
