GUI doesn't send emails **MASTER RECORD**

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph

    Description:
Emails are sent OK from the OPAC but not from the GUI.

    Resolution:
Is the problem with emailing forms to patrons, vendors, etc., or does *no* GUI emailing work?

If no GUI emailing works, or if you are uncertain, consult Articles " How to define GUI to send email "  and  (" Can't send email from the GUI ").

If the test described in the article works (that is, the GUI sends some emails successfully), then ...

Is the problem just with the print daemon emailing forms? If so, stop the print daemon (Task Manager -- Print Daemon -- click on "Deactivate") and try printing/emailing without it: Click on "File List", then highlight a file in the top "Local Name" section and click on "Print". If this generates email (but print daemon does not), consult Articles 000017716 ("Print daemon won't send emails; log shows: "Unable to connect to server") and 000015866 ("cir-51 Not Printing Notices for Patrons with Email Addresses").

If no emails are generated, even using File List rather than Print daemon, then consult Article 000007623 (" How to Print Notices to Patrons to Both the Printer and Email ").

If some forms email OK but others do not, search for the specific form name in the Knowledge Articles.

    Other things to check:

Do you have any size limitations on your mail server that might be causing this?

    What about anti-spam software?

Is the PC a networked or stand alone client?
