    Description:
    How does the library_type parameter differ from the file_list_type parameter? (Likewise, the library_size parameter vs. the file_list_size?)

    Resolution:
    library_type is an older form of the parameter.

    Version 16 rep_change 218 (version 17 rep_ver 8468) says this:

    Description: Creating a new library, based on a template library.
    ...
    Usage: csh -f open_new_library <Library name> <File List Size> <Template Library> <X Path> <USR Library> <Create Oracle User>
    ...
    Template Library - Mandatory.
    ...
    The script will insert proper file_list_type line in prof_library and if necessary will remove old library_type line.

    <end rep_change 218 excerpt>

    In version 18, the library_type is not used by the programs at all. The $aleph_proc scripts, open_new_library and open_new_aleph_site (described in Version 18 rep_change 13), reference the library_type parameter in the source library -- but only in order to change it to a "file_list_type" parameter in the new (target) library(s) they are creating.
