How p-file-90 creates the Cataloger Name from tab_loader_def

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 21, 22, 23

    Description:

We've recently discovered that file-90 is not correctly using the defined Cataloger ID set in tab_loader_def for our BIB loads. It's setting the ID to YBPSR instead. It looks like this is a default value provided by the system.

    Resolution:

Default Cataloger name for file-90 is YBPSR, if not set in tab_loader_def.

In xxx50/tab/tab_loader_def, entry CATALOGER is used for the Cataloger name of BIB and HOL records (Z30-CATALOGER is used for the items record):

Filtering is not possible on the 049 field from the record, unless there is a value entered as Default Holding code in file-90.

If 049 is present in the records, default holding code will not be used, except for the Cataloger name. Even if the Default Holding code is different from the 049 in the records, the Default holding code value will be used for Cataloger name in tab_loader_def.

    For example:
Records in the file have 049 code XZLA, and you have the following in tab_loader_def:

    !             1                          2                            3
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    CATALOGER                      XZLA######           MASTER-VEND
    CATALOGER                      ##########           MASTER

If you need Cataloger Name to be MASTER-VEND, you have to enter "XZLA" as the default Holding Code parameter in file-90. Otherwise the Cataloger name will be set to MASTER.
