    Question

    How to escape special characters in the address data (like ampersand &) in XML format for PLIF (file-20)?

    Answer


    Encoding the ampersand as &amp will work: 
    <z304-address-1>Smith &amp Miller</z304-address-1>

    Additional Information

    If the characters are not correctgly encoded the following error message might be displayed when customer tries to upload xml PLIF file:


    "/exlibris/aleph/u21_x/xxx50/scratch/plif_130909_133132.txt:27: parser error : xmlParseEntityRef: no name
    <z304-address-2>Development & Reform Commission hostel,</z304-address-2>"
