How to view the EDI Load Log by Load Log Number

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Desired Outcome Goal:
Where does the EDI Load Log Number appear after running edi-10 to load incoming EDI messages. This number is needed to view the EDI Load Log in the Acquisitions GUI client.

    Procedure:
The batch job log doesn’t reference the EDI Load Log number. The best way to view the Load Log is to go to the Administration tab in Acquisitions, select [E] EDI Load Log, delete the Log Number currently displayed, and press <ENTER>. Aleph puts the latest Log Number in the field and displays the log for that load. The numbers are assigned sequentially, so if you change the number to one lower, the previous Load Log is shown. To find a specific load, you have to step backward in this manner. When looking for a specific load, the contents of the log itself should have enough information for identification purposes.

    Additional Information

The EDI Load Log is maintained as an Oracle table - z74.

The EDI Load Log Number is generated from a sequence in the Oracle table z52, located in the ADM library. This table can be viewed (and updated, if necessary), using the util/g/2 utility. The relevant sequence name is last-edi-log-no.
