    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Desired Outcome Goal:
How to index the ISBN so that it's not necessary to add a truncation sign at the end of the number when there is additional text in the ISBN like
    0-02-865604-0 (vol. 1)

    Procedure:
In xxx01/tab/tab_filing use the dedicated ISBN filing routine ISBN, e.g. change filing routine
    21 del_subfield
    21 compress !@#$%^&*()_+-={}[]\|:";<>?,./~`
    21 compress_blank

    to

    21 F isbn

In that case the additional text is automatically suppressed from being indexed.

Restart or ue_01 is required and a complete re-indexing if you want to add this rule also to all already indexed records.
