    Question

In the util x menu, what does “Loop Count” mean?  And how do we determine what to enter here if we do not want to use the default?

    Answer

The Loop Count is the number of delete-able records the proc will process as part of a particular loop. (This can be seen, for instance, in $aleph_proc/clear_z69.sql.)  The proc then initiates another loop.

We suggest trying it with the default initially, and, if it seems too slow, increasing the size of the size of the loop.
