    Question

We would like to enable email receipt on returns using our self service machines.
Is it possible to configure Aleph SIP2 message 9/10 to provide the <BE> field with borrowers email?

    Answer

Aleph is sending the field BE (e-mail address) only as part of Patron Information Response (message 64).

It cant be supported in Checkin Response (message 10).
This is hardcoded and can not be configured.

    Additional Information

3M has defined in the protocol definition that BE should only be included in message 64 and not in any other message (see http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?mwsId=SSSSSu7zK1fslxtUm8_9m82Uev7qe17zHvTSevTSeSSSSSS--)

So sending BE field as part of message 10 would not be compliant to the protocol.
