Description:
Is ret-01 the most used utility to identify records or is there something better?

Resolution:
There are two main ways of identifying records:

a) searching in the GUI and using the "Save As" button to "Add Set to List of Sets"; or searching on the Web and using the "Save on Server" function

b) the p_ret_01 or p_ret_03 services. p_ret_03 is preferable: it is uses a Common Command Language search (for indexed fields) and runs much faster; p_ret_01 is used in the case where the field being searched is not indexed. See KB 4040 for more detailed comparison.
