Description:
We are queueing up batch data correction projects that will create hundreds of thousands of Z07s. I found multiple KB entries having to do with backlogs of z07s, even into the millions. Most of these seem to be due to authority loads and often seem to result in the deletion of Z07s. However, I found nothing in the KB that directly indicated an upper limit for Z07 processing. Is there one? If so, what is it?

Resolution:
There is no particular upper limit for the number of z07's. The system usually processes 30-60 z07's per minute. This is 80,000 to 160,000 per day.

The /arch archive log can fill up the disk it resides on ... so you need to watch that.

The cases in which z07's have simply been deleted are cases in which there has not been any change to indexable fields and the processing of the z07's would, therefore, be extraneous. But, if you do this, you need to make certain that you are not also deleting z07's produced by GUI Cataloging. See KB 8192-7463.
