    Question

Is there a way to have automated copy numbers to be created when adding multiple items? At the moment the field is always filled with "1".

    Answer

The "Copy Number" is not meant to be a counter. It's an optional field that can be used in order to identify items e.g. for running Global changes (right button). So it seems more logical to have no copy number automatically created.

The number is added with "Save defaults" functionality and is only valid for one workstation (and not for all PCs working with the client). For avoiding the number to be created when adding new items you should change your "Default" values.
