Is there a way to suppress the "OBJECTS" line in the Records Manager/Overview?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
That's my succinct problem -- in the title. I presume this "OBJECTS" is for use with Digitool or some other digitization process -- since most of our sites are not doing that kind of thing (and NONE are using Digitool), I'd like to suppress this line for everyone when we upgrade to version 18.

I presume this is not within the client (of course, if it is, please let me know where it is for repackaging).

Is it possible to suppress this from display? I've added an attachment with a screen capture of the screens I'm referencing (add in "Overview" in any module)

    Resolution:
You can reposition the location of the Objects link on the Navigational pane, but you can't remove it altogether. Here are the options (taken from the pc_server_defaults section of the V.18 Configuration Guide):

    ********************************
    setenv item_object_tree_style
Defines how to expand object navigation and object overview (ADAM) :
1 - Show all objects under each ADM and do not show objects under the BIB
2 - Show all objects under each ADM but only if the Z403-SUBLIBRARY matches
the ADM, or Z403-SUBLIBRARY is spaces. Do not show objects under the BIB.
3 - Show objects under each ADM but only if the Z403-SUBLIBRARY matches the
ADM. "Open to all" objects should be under the BIB.
4 - Show all objects under the BIB.
    **************************************

You might find the placement of Objects inder the ADM less obtrusive. Try using the 2 setting.
