Question

Is it possible to exclude specific item statuses from the global limit (99) in tab16?
Are items with item process status also counted for the global limit?

Answer

1. Specific item statuses cannot be excluded from the global line; the global lines (98 and 99) "define limits for the total number of loans/holds/bookings, with no item status check".

2- Items with a specific item process status are included into the global line 99, unless they are listed separately.  Example for item process status 'CT'

HIL 99 ## 01 + 00000000 00 A 0000 0000 00000 008 015
HIL 99 ## 02 + 00000000 00 A 0000 0000 00000 007 014
HIL 99 ## 03 + 00000000 00 A 0000 0000 00000 006 013
HIL 99 CT ## + 00000000 00 A 0000 0000 00000 001 013
HIL 99 ## ## + 00000000 00 A 0000 0000 00000 003 006

Explanation:
A patron with patron status 12 and an item with item process status 'CT' is only able to loan 1 item before the global limit catches.

Pre-requisite: check_circ_4_b in ./xxx50/tab/tab_check_circ is activated

! 4_b: check patron loan limits (99 line)
! check the patron's overall loan limit in a sublibrary
! according to parameters set in tab16 99 line
! A single sublibrary in the group may not exceed the number of loans
! set up in the 99 line

LOAN check_circ_4_b
