Just in time debugging with control O option in GUI Catalog

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
I received a report for version 16 for which I can find no information in the knowledge or support base: When a staff member uses the control+O option to view a record in the OPAC within the GUI catalog module, then conducts a search with the OPAC display, a window appears that is titled" Just-in-Time Debugging" and asks the user to select a New Instance of Microsoft Script Editor. This began within the last month in version 16 (we are checking to see if the same occurs in version 18) Are you familiar with this problem? Is it something that can be fixed? Or are we using the client incorrectly by searching within the web OPAC screen?

    Resolution:
Though one may sometimes be able to successfully do Web searches in this Cataloging window, that is not what it is intended for and we are not in a position to debug problems which occur in such searching.

This function is intended for the display of the single record being displayed in Cataloging only.

If you want to locate other records, you need to use either:

    1. the GUI Find function (the binoculars) or
    2. the Web OPAC.
