Keyword searches retrieve completely unrelated words

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 22
    • Relevant for Installation Type: All

    Description:

Keyword searches retrieve completely unrelated words.  For example, a search on the word “train” displays a “no hits” screen, with words which are supposedly just before and after “train”, but, in this case, are random beginning with  “/e” -- despite the fact that there are records containing the word “train”.

    Resolution:

Util a/17/14 (“Drop & Create Table and Index”)  for the z97 showed that the z97_id (built on the z97_word column) was missing.  An attempt to build it with util a/17/2 (“Create Index”) failed with a duplicate keys error, but util a/17/18 (“Search for Duplicate Keys”) was successful.   See link to article

“Cannot CREATE UNIQUE INDEX; duplicate keys found; using util a/17/18” below.

[Note: Though it could occur with any bib library, in this case it occurred with v22 usm01 data.]
