    1. Additional Information
    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
    Logs in $alephe_scratch contain the error message:

    LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8: Command not found.

    Cause:
    Incorrect "locale" values.

    Resolution:
    Enter the "locale" command: aleph@xyz(a21_2)> locale

    If the response contains lines which do not have a value of "en_US.UTF-8" (such as "LANG= <blank>"), then do the following:

    > sudo locale-gen en_US.UTF-8

    Additional Information

    If locale errors are accompanied by a "perl warning", consult KB 16384-44721 ("perl: warning: Setting locale failed.")
