    Question

Why does the ACQ Material Type field only display the first 2 characters of the data from xxx50/tab/pc_tab_exp_field.lng, col 4 which allows up to 100 characters?

    Answer

All codes in the "ACQ_ORDER_MATERIAL" section of xxx50/tab/pc_tab_exp_field.lng must be only 2 characters long. This is because the value taken from column 4 of xxx01/tab/pc_tab_exp_field.lng (Code) is placed in the C0532-MATERIAL-TYPE variable (2 characters long) and then goes into Z68-MATERIAL-TYPE, which is also 2 characters long.

So in the specific case of the "ACQ_ORDER_MATERIAL" entries, since these codes are eventually stored in the Z68-MATERIAL-TYPE variable, they cannot be longer than 2 characters, although the table itself enables longer values.
