List price in the Quantity and price tab

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
When a change to the List price in the "Quantity and Price" tab of an order in Acquisitions, the Local price amount is much greater (or less) than it should be. (See example in Additional information below.)

    Cause:
This can occur with older transactions which have older z82 (Currency) ratios for this currency/date.

    Resolution:
GUI Acquisitions --> Administrative tab (Pencil box) --> [C] Currency can be used to update the Currency ratio. This will affect *future* updates to budget transactions, but only if some change is made to the budget transaction and saved.

The currency ratios of existing budget transactions (z601s) are "locked" by virtue of the existing z601_local_sum field. A change to the z82 ratio will affect future new or updated transactions, but any updates to existing z601_local_sum fields without GUI update of the individual transaction would need to be made via SQL.

Note: There is an acq-08 "Update local price of budget transaction" service, but, as described in KB 4094 ("What are p_acq_08 and p_acq_09? "), there are serious negative consequences to its use and we strongly recommend that you *not* use it.

    Additional Information

As an example: for an amount of 100 GBP, the local price became 557.32 (Canadian $). The ratio between GBP and CND is 1.5604... so the local price should have been around 156.04$CA.
