    March (2007) Daylight Savings Time change and Java

    Description:
    Java has a patch out for the earlier-Daylight-Savings-Time (DST) change which will occur in March. Should we patch the jdk in the aleph product directory? Will that be addressed in a service pack? Or is it safe to ignore it?

    Resolution:
    You need to update the JDK (Java Development Kit) runtime components in ALEPH.

    We are checking the possibility of creating a special patch for updating Java for each Ex Libris product, but if you don't hear from us before the time of the change (March 11), then please use the following:

    JDK US DST Timezone Update Tool - 1.0

    The tzupdater tool is provided to allow the updating of installed JDK/JRE images with more recent timezone data in order to accommodate the U.S. 2007 daylight saving time changes (US2007DST) originating with the U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005.
