    Description:
We built two logical bases (Physical Library Equipment & the State Document Collection). The following is the parameters in tab_base.eng. After that, I ran p-manage-32, but none of the logical bases seem to be working. The State Document Collection is only identified by note field (MARC 590 field).

    PHYEQ Physics Equipment USM01 EXU01 USM01 Y alldocuments not (wst=suppressed or wst=deleted or wst=circ-created) and WSL=PHYEQ

    DOCS State Gov.Collection USM01 EXU01 USM01 Y alldocuments not (wst=suppressed or wst=deleted or wst=circ-created) and WRD=State Government Collection

    Please give us further instructions.

    Resolution:
Run the following report in USM01 (UTIL-H-1-10) which illustrates the recommended and current setup of the Z0102 column (column 8) of tab_base.eng:

Number of records per base and Z0102 recommended and current setup

    Base | # Docs | Recommended| Current | Conflicts
    --------------------+-------------+------------+------------+---------
    DOCS |NEGATIVE BASE| No | Yes | *** Err ***
    PHYEQ |NEGATIVE BASE| No | Yes | *** Err ***

“NEGATIVE BASE” in the “# Docs” column indicates that there are no records in the database that meet the search criteria (the Find command which you've defined in column 9 of tab_base.eng).

The formatting of the CCL statement in the alephe/tab/tab_base.eng table was 'off' - it looked like hard carriage returns were entered. I eliminated these carriage returns (using "SHIFT - J" in vi to join the lines).

    ! 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-!-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-!!!!!-!!!!!-!!!!!-!!!!!-!-!!!!!!!!!>
    DOCS State Gov.Collection USM01 EXU01 USM01 Y alldocuments not (wst=suppressed or wst=deleted or wst=circ-created) and WRD=S
    State Government Collection

    PHYEQ Physics Equipment USM01 EXU01 USM01 Y alldocuments not (wst=suppressed or wst=deleted or wst=circ-created) and WSL=PHYEQ

Now when you execute UTIL-H-1-10 (in USM01) the "NEGATIVE BASE" message no longer appears.

Note that when you put exact text into tab_base.eng (i.e. "State Government Collection") if there is *any* variance of this text from one record to the next (e.g. one uses a capital letter; the next doesn't) the records that don't match "State Government Collection" verbatim will not be retrieved.
