Number format display with the Budget summary (acq-16) report

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
The format of the number display with the Budget summary report is displaying incorrectly for some of our ADMs. The numbers are all 16 characters long including a + or - sign at the beginning. The budget-statuses-hierarchy-00 file wasn't changed, nor any known modification at our configuration files who could affect the display.

This problem appeared in five out of the seven ADMs using acquisitions for this specific report (acq-16). The format of numbers is OK with the other ADMs.

    Resolution:
This is happening because of a file permission problem. ALEPH has to create a utf version of the associated trn file for these reports. I find that the form_<lng> - that is form_eng or form_fre - directories for these utf versions for some of your ADMs libraries are owned by root, so the aleph user is unable to write these trn files. Therefore, these reports don't have formatting instructions. Here are the problemmatic directories:

As an example, here are the characteristics of the eng_fre directory:

    drwxrwxr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 24 04:00 form_fre/
    drwxrwxr-x 2 aleph exlibris 4096 Mar 3 14:22 pc_display_fre/
    drwxrwxr-x 2 aleph exlibris 4096 Mar 3 14:22 tab/

You can changes ownership of these directories to aleph, or simply delete these directories. ALEPH will recreate them with the proper characteristics.
