    Numbering of rep_change's in version 20-up

    • Article Type: Q&A
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Question

    Some version 20 rep_change's have numbers in the 0nnn range (such as 0440) and others have numbers in the 2nnn range (such as 2136).
    Why is there this big gap in the numbering?

    Answer

    This is due to the introduction of Minor Releases in version 20-up.

    When a new version is established, rep_change's numbered 0001 - 0nnn are rep_change's which will be part of Service Packs preceding the first Minor Release; rep_change's 2001-2nnn are rep_change's which will be included in the first Minor Release.

    Once the first Minor Release occurs, the numbering of rep_change's to be included in the next Service Pack continues in the 2nnn range and rep_change's to be held until the second Minor Release are numbered in the 3001-3nnn range.

    To put it another way:

    rep_change's 0001-171 are part of 20.0;
    rep_change's 2001-2nnn are part of 20.1;
    rep_change's 3001-3nnn are part of 20.2;
    <etc.>
