Old Z30 fields in ADM records (put there by the Store function)

    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23

    Question

As described in Article 'Where does Aleph store original item values which will get restored?', the Aleph Store function stores the item information in the ADM Z30 field (whence it is restored by the the Restore function).

Is it a problem if the ADM record contains obsolete Z30, that is, the sublibrary, collection, and item status in the z30 record have already been restored and z30_temp_location is "N"?

    Answer

If z30_temp_location is "N", there should be no Z30 field in the ADM record for this item. (It may be that these values were changed manually rather than by using the Restore Item Information function.)

It could be a problem if a staff member checks the "Temporary Location" box of an item connected to this ADM record and then clicks on "Restore", it may pull the info from this obsolete ADM z30 field into the item.

To prevent this, run the manage-21 global change in SBA50 to delete any z30 fields older than yyyy-mm-dd.
