    Open Hours Utility

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
When using the "Open Hours" utility from the GUI, the system sorts the values sent to tab17.

    Resolution:
When using the "Open Hours" utility from the GUI, the system sorts the values before writing them to tab17.
The algorithm sorts the lines from the most specific line to the least specific line.
Line with hashes in a year are less specific then an explicit year (e.g. 2007).

For example, you have specified year and month and, in a different line, month and day. The line with specified year and month will come first.

    17A 200701## 06 O 1200 1700
    17A ####0101 C
    17A ######## 01 O 0800 2200
    17A ######## 02 O 0800 2200
    17A ######## 03 O 0800 2200
    17A ######## 04 O 0800 2200
    17A ######## 05 O 0800 2000
    17A ######## 06 O 1000 1800
    17A ######## 00 O 1000 1800

This means that the line with specified month and day
    17A ####0101 C
will not be read in the year 2007.

If the library wants a different sort it should edit the tab17 on the server (not via the GUI).
