    Description:
What version of Oracle (patch level) is installed with version 20? Our OPatch utility is not working with Oracle 11g so we cannot determine this.

There is a file called oraInst.loc that is a central inventory of the software and patches in the oracle home. This file should be in /etc directory but we found it in the /exlibris/app/oracle/product/11 directory. When we tried to use the lsinventory file in the oracle home I am getting an error. “oraInst.loc is corrupted”.

The 10g oracle homes do not have this problem. This is the way it was installed for us.

    Resolution:
    From Ex Libris:

The behaviour you describe occurs becase we use "quick" installation and not the traditional method.

You can "fix" it by fixing oraOnst.loc and re-building the inventory. See attached "Build a New Inventory for opatch" document .
