    Description

Campus IT has alerted me to this article from Oracle:
    https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/overview/oracle-jdk-faqs.html

Does this affect licensing for the Java Virtual Machine / Saxon8.jar that the Aleph clients require for printing?

I'm being urged to switch to OpenJDK so that we don't need to buy a license for Java SE .

    Resolution

Please see the Cross-product article:  Ex Libris response to Oracles Java license change   .

OpenJDK will be released with Aleph V23.3 (June, 2019) .

NOTE:   One site decided to license Java, noting:  "It's quite affordable.'
