    Description:
We have run into a problem while trying to optimize our Oracle install on the new version20 Aleph machines. Both the test and production servers have 64GB ram. We were in the process of allocating more ram for Oracle when we noticed that Oracle would shut down with an error 'ORA-27103'.

After researching the error, we found it is a known bug with 11.1.0.7 on Linux x86_64 machines when SGA is greater than 3g. There is a patch available from Oracle (patch 7272646). We are unable to download the patch since we do not have a Oracle Support Identifier. We were hoping you could download the patch and supply it to us, so we could apply it and resolve the matter.

    Resolution:
Patch (prepared by Tamar Nirenberg) sent to customer via email.
