    1. Additional Information
    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
    When trying to authenticate via Shibboleth, the following error message is displayed:

    "ID or verification field dont match the system records used by the PDS."

    Cause:
    The PDS configuration file /exlibris/aleph/a20_1/pds/conf_table/shib.conf did not map the Shibboleth attributes to the PDS attributes properly

    Resolution:
    The PDS configuration file /exlibris/aleph/a20_1/pds/conf_table/shib.conf did not map the Shibboleth attributes to the PDS attributes properly.

    Additional Information

    There is one single mandatory mapping between Shibboleth attributes and PDS attributes: a Shibboleth attribute which contains the User ID must be mapped to the PDS attribute z312_source_id. Usually the Shibboleth attribute REMOTE_USER contains the required User ID.

    Example of shib.conf file:
    REMOTE_USER = z312_source_id
