Description:
We are trying to load patrons for our academic libraries for the Summer and Fall semesters.

The Pincode and Barcode Verification are not loading correctly. They should be set to the students last name. When we look at the input file with the "Display PLIF Records from Sequential File" (Util F 2 5 1), the "Verification" record shows the correct Last Name, but when the file is loaded the students end up with somethign completely different.

Resolution:
The type 00 ID# comes from the xxx50 util g/2 last-bor-id.

Where the type 00 VERIFICATION comes from depends on the tab100 DEFAULT-BOR-VERIFY-1 parameter:

! Y = create a default field value, using last-bor-verify-1
! counter from z52 (UTIL G/2).
! K = the same as 'N', except in the P-FILE-20, where empty
! verification field in the input file is populated with the z308-key-data
N = empty fields may remain empty

(Note: Though the preceding implies that you could be loading type 00 records with p_file_20, this is *not* a good idea. YOu should let the system create the type 00.) See also KB 16384-18513.

The z308_verification for type 00 records can not be updated by p_file_20.

Your experience indicates that the verification from the PLIF record is not included in the original type 01 z308 record it creates from the PLIF ID segment.

But p_file_20 will accept a type 01 (barcode) ID segment update whose LOGIN-REC-KEY is null but whose LOGIN-REC-VERIFICATION has a value. This is described in KB's 8192-7095 and 15546.
