Description:
The patron names in the GUI Circ Patron List are case-sensitive.
If the name is not typed with the same case it was entered in, you will not be positioned properly in the list.
Please explain.
Resolution:
The ./xxx50/tab/tab_filing lacked the routine '55' for the creation of the z303_name_key. (It came from the pre-upgrade xxx50 tab_filing -- which was copied from the xxx01 tab_filing -- which had a different routine '55'.)
In upgrading to version 16 or 17, the xxx50 tab_filing needs to be a copy of the usm50 tab_filing and should *not* be taken from a pre-16.02 xxx50 tab_filing.
Copying the ./usm50/tab/tab_filing (with "cp" not "cp -p" -- so the datestamp *would* be updated) and running p_manage_64 with Patron Name <Z303> as the "Table" followed by p_cir_25 specifying "Y" for "Delete All" corrected the problem.
If the patron names are filed in two separate sequences, one with the pre-upgrade patrons and one with the post-upgrade, then consult KB# 6729.
