    Problem Symptoms:
The message "Problem with the VIR01 z60 table" occurs in GUI Cataloging.

    Cause:
The pc_server log has these messages:

    Oracle error: io_z60_lock
    ORA-01000: maximum open cursors exceeded

The Oracle open_cursors setting is too small.

    Resolution:
Article 000012247 ("ORA-01000: maximum open cursors exceeded") describes this situation. $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/init.ora currently has "open_cursors=300".

Per the Article, at this large site, increase this to 1000. Then stop/restart Aleph and Oracle.
