Question about p_print_03 and exporting SUPPRESSED records

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
When exporting records using p_print_03, I was under the impression that setting "Export deleted records" to No would prevent STA = SUPPRESSED records from being exported.

I am finding, however, that we ARE exporting suppressed records.

Is it supposed to be doing this?

If not, how do I fix its behavior?

If yes, please recommend another process I could use toe xport records that would not include SUPPRESSED records.

    Resolution:
I checked your public catalog definition in tab_base and find that you are using the status 'SUPPRESSED' to suppress records. If you specify NO for 'Exported deleted records', print-03 doesn't export deleted records. It will still export suppressed records. print-03 checks for a STA field of DELETED or for a value of 'd' in LDR/06. If you don't want to include records, you can add an STA of DELETED or change LDR/06 to 'd'.

I don't know what methods you are currently using to select records for export, but if you might be able to leave things as they are and just eliminate these records by using a ccl search saying you don't want records with wst=suppressed.
