    Questions about Fast patron registration options

    Is it possible to get the ILL limits and profile and home library as defaults for the "global" patron. I need clarification on what is possible. In the tab_fast_patron_register which resides in ODN00 the values are the following:

    Z303-ILL-TOTAL-LIMIT=0000
    Z303-ILL-ACTIVE-LIMIT=0000
    Z303-EXPORT-CONSENT=N
    Z303-SEND-ALL-LETTERS=Y
    !Z304-DATE-TO=00000013M
    Z304-DATE-TO=00000001Y
    Z305-BOR-TYPE=
    Z303-PLIF-MODIFICATION=

    I know if they want ILL limits automatically filled in they would have to use the Fast patron registration form.

    Currently the ILL limits are controlled by the USR00 tab_fast_patron_register table.

    My questions are:
    1. Are the values that reside in USR00 tab_fast_patron_register the only ones available? Meaning you cannot have the LIBRARY PROFILE added?

    2. Since the total and active ILL limits are set in this table as well - are the values set used in the background - I don't see them in our fast patron registration form?

    3. Knowing that if a library would want to use this function can we have the tab_fast_patron_register table moved to their individual ADM?

    Resolution:
    Below are my responses to your questions ("ExL: ...."). Questions #1 and #3 sound like enhancement requests.

    Currently the only way to get the ILL limits, profile and home library to populate the regular patron information form is to have clicked the "save defaults" button previously with the desired defaults so that subsequent patron registrations would include these vales. The Save defaults function saves these values to your PC/workstation, therefore if you use a different pc the next time you register patrons you will not have the same defaults saved.

    Questions:
    1. Are the values that reside in USR00 tab_fast_patron_register the only ones available? Meaning you cannot have the LIBRARY PROFILE added?

    ExL: The values you have listed in usr00/tab/tab_fast_patron_register are the ones that are currently available (which does not include the Z303_PROFILE_ID field). I would not recommend adding Z303-PROFILE-ID.

    2. Since the total and active ILL limits are set in this table as well - are the values set used in the background - I don't see them in our fast patron registration form?

    ExL: Yes. You can manually add the Z303-ILL-TOTAL-LIMIT and Z303-ILL-ACTIVE-LIMIT fields in the regular patron information form however these values are populated automatically/behind-the-scenes if you use the fast patron registration form.

    3. Knowing that if a library would want to use this function can we have the tab_fast_patron_register table moved to their individual ADM?

    ExL: Since the tab_fast_patron_register tables resides in the USR00, there is no way to make the system use the ADM library's tab_fast_patron_register.
