    Question

Is it recommended to reduce the size of the z35 table?
The system is holding more than 22 Mio records in z35 at the moment.

    Answer

Since the Aleph application does not read from this table online, but only for offline statistics, there should be no influence whatsoever on the online performance.

    Additional Information

Aleph offers the possibility to remove z35 table entirely (using util a/16 Drop Event Table (z35))

You could consider the following - probably after completing the yearly statistics:
    1. export the current table z35 using service 'Export Database Tables (file-03).
    2. store the resulting export file $data_files/z35.seq as a backup
    3. drop table z35 using util/a/16 Drop Event Table (z35)
