    Question

Does the system keep a records of emails sent from the GUI circulation module? If not, how does the system keep a record of who sent the emails and when?
Specifically, it seems that emails generated via the envelope icon to the right of the email address in the GUI patron record do not produce entries in the Print History directory.

    Answer

Emails sent from the GUI Print function go into the ALEPH - Print History in the GUI Client. (This is seen by clicking on "ALEPH" in the upper left and then selecting "Print History" from the dropdown.) But this does not apply to emails sent independently of the Print function, such as this email from the patron email address envelope icon.

To retain a history of emails sent via the GUI from a particular PC, place the following in the pc's .\Alephcom\tab\alephcom.ini:

    [Mail]
    ...
BccAddress= <the address of an email account at which the emails can be stored>.

This email address will be copied with all of the emails sent (successfully) from this PC's GUI.
