    Running Aleph on a server cluster

    Are there any guidelines or caveats to running Aleph on a Redhat server cluster? We are planning on buying new servers for our Aleph v.20 production and test servers very soon, and wanted to know if server clustering was an option for us, and if there are any problems with running Aleph on a cluster. Will there be a licensing issue, either with Aleph or with Oracle, if we go with the clustering option?

    Resolution:
    We don't have a formal answer, but we do know we have some customers that are running clusters. We suggest that you post a query about this to the ELUNA SysAdmin list. If you don't get a satisfactory response, we could then escalate this to 2nd-line.

    There will be no license problem with a cluster set-up. You need to give us the ip addresses of all of the servers involved and we will create a license which will be valid on all of them. {In order to do this, you have to have an "IP-ADDRESS" line for each separate IP. (There can be multiple IP-ADDRESS lines).}
