Running p_manage_07 to build Z00R for ADM libraries

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
We would like to run p-manage-07 to fully populate the z00R tables in each of our five ADM libraries. We have included a "Z00R expand_doc_adm_bib" line in the abc50 tab_expand table.

On 12/22, we ran it with parameters "Record Type" = "Update z13 and z00R" and "Library" = "ABC01" (see /exlibris/aleph/u18_1/alephe/scratch/abc01_p_manage_07.10823 ). This appears to have re-initialized abc01.z00R (it had records before, and now does not), and presumably re-built abc01.z13.

The z00R tables in the ADMs have records in them, and new records are automatically created on a daily basis (or, it seems, as new bib records are added). However, in the case of abc50.z00R, and presumably for the other ADMs as well, the table is incomplete, i.e. z00R only contains a subset of the doc numbers owned by ABC that are contained in abc01.z00.

Our intention is to fully populate abc50.z00R with all doc numbers owned by ABC in abc01.z00R. Is this possible? What parameters should run with p-manage-07 to accomplish this? Will p-manage-07 need to run with a separate set of parameters for each of the ADMs?

    Resolution:
I confirmed that the abc50 records 000012988 and 000401306 did not have any z00r records.

So I did util f/1/13 (in abc50) to resend these records to the server. These records now *do* have z00r records. I don't know why they did not have z00r's prior to this util f/1/13.

If you run p_manage_07 for abc50, it should generate z00r records for these and all eligible abc50 doc records.

The p_manage_07 needs to be run in each ADM library.

The parameters can be be the same in each: you need to specify "Yes" for "Delete Short Records" and "0" (Update Z13 and Z00R) or "2" (Update only Z00R) for "Record Type".

Note: You can *not* be working with the abc01 doc number, either in doing SQL or in running p_manage_07 form abc50. When you run p_manage_07 on abc50 and specify and range of doc numbers, those doc numbers are *abc50* ADM doc numbers. If you are interested in a particular abc01 bib record, you need to do util f/3/12 to get the abc50 ADM number for that particular abc01 bib record.

Note 2: As described in KB 16384-12225, the ADM z00r (and z13) will *not* be automatically updated by ongoing bib record updates. That KB describes a way to generate such updates.
