Running util f/1/17 in batch to correct words for certain bib records

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description

The tablespace which our z98 Oracle table resides in filled up and though certain bib records contain certain words they are not retrievable in keyword search by those words.
We find that updating the record or creating a z07 indexing request via util f/1/13 or the manage-40 Service (so that ue_01 will process it) does *not* correct the problem, but doing util f/1/17 for the record *does* correct it.
Can util f/1/17 somehow be run in batch?

    Resolution

The difference between util-f-1-13 and util-f-1-17 is that the latter deletes the z95 and builds it anew, wheras the former builds z95 on-the-fly and compares it to the previous z95 (= in the DB). If the oracle problem was in Z98, not in Z95, then the DB z95 and the on-the-fly Z95 might be identical even if a word is not found (because the word is missing from z98).
The best way to handle this, especially if you're uncertain which records might have the problem, is to run the manage-01 Service to recreate the Words indexes.  If you are reluctant to do that, it may be that there's an undistributed program  which could be run.  This is described in the Internal Comment -- viewable only by Ex Libris Support staff -- below.  Contact your Ex Libris Support staff if you want to pursue this.
