Rush cataloging request setup in v.20

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
In the Staff Users Guide-Circulation, it says about the workflow for Rush Cataloging Requests that:

The patron selects an item and submits a hold request. The hold request
submission is automatically followed by the creation of a cataloging trigger if
the item has a process status of “pending cataloging processing” and the
patron is authorized to make a Rush Cataloging request. The cataloging trigger
is a notification to the Cataloging department to give priority to catalog the
    item.

Is the process status referred to above, of "pending cataloging processing" an item process status that must be defined in tab15 and pc_tab_exp_field.eng? If so, what code should be used for this particular item process status? Is it important that the name of the item process status be "pending cataloging processing"? Or can ANY item process status (for example, OR or OI) be used for rush cataloging purposes and it is only having an "R" in col.8 of tab15 for that item process status that allows/causes the rush cataloging functionality?

    Resolution:
The operative piece is the "R" in col.8 of tab15. Any item process status can be used for this purpose. The item process status code and text do not matter.
